Amazon plans to open a new delivery station in Lake County.
The new facility in Groveland will help speed up deliveries in the area.
“We warmly welcome Amazon into the community,” Groveland Mayor Evelyn Wilson said. “This project represents the continuation of growth in employment opportunities for our residents and further diversification of our tax base. Groveland is excited to serve as host for another world class facility serving the greater region and adding to our natural charm.”
In addition, the company plans to hire hundreds of full-time and part-time employees and offer a $15 minimum wage.
The site is expected to open sometime next year.
Amazon said the company has more than 150 delivery stations in the U.S.
