Amazon Prime Day: what to expect this July
26 May 2019
Amazon Prime Day is known as the biggest shopping event of the summer, so it’s no surprise that it is returning this July to give customers 36 hours of non-stop deals on everything from home tech to furniture.
Amazon Prime Day always falls in July (this year, rumoured to be 8th or 15, but we’ll update on that), just before the summer holidays begin; the perfect time to grab a pre-holiday bargain.
We’ll help ensure you’re prepared as ever this Amazon Prime Day and are ready to bag all those bargains with regular updates on what’s on offer. New camera to take your summer photos on? Yes please. A robot vacuum to help with the cleaning? Done. A stylish bed frame to fit a new mattress? Bingo.
We’ve found more of the best current Amazon deals to help you save ££s, or you can browse through Amazon’s daily deals page to see for yourself.
WHAT IS AMAZON PRIME DAY?
Much like Black Friday, Amazon Prime Day used to be just 24 hours long to offer Amazon customers huge discounts on anything and everything they need; however, much to our pleasure, both events have been extended, and last year’s Amazon Prime Day lasted 36 hours.
Last year, Amazon welcomed more new Prime members on the date of July 16 than any previous day in Amazon history, as you have to be a Prime member to take part in Amazon Prime Day. However, luckily for you, we’ve got a little trick if you don’t want to fork out becoming a member but still want the deals.
A few days before the event, or even on Amazon Prime Day itself, click one of the links below (depending on the country you’re in) to start your free Amazon Prime trial, which will last for a month. If you decide you don’t want to be a member after Amazon Prime Day, you can cancel it and, if not, it’s just £7.99 per month to carry on enjoying the perks, such as free next day delivery and access to TV shows.
WHAT WE DON’T KNOW ABOUT AMAZON PRIME DAY?
Amazon Prime Day is still a few weeks away, so we aren’t sure on exact facts around the event yet, but once we do know, we’ll update you. We’re waiting to find out the exact date, length of the event and, of course, what deals to expect.
Last year’s Amazon Prime Day fell on July 16th, the third Monday of July. If we’re going on the event’s history, we can guess that this year Amazon Prime Day will be on July 15th. Due to the success of last year’s event, will this year be longer than a day and a half? We hope so.
Psssst: Keep checking back here for updates!
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM AMAZON PRIME DAY
Amazon Prime Day 2018 sold more than 100 million products across 17 different countries; among the best selling products were Amazon’s very own Fire TV Stick and Echo Dot.
As much as we wish we were, we’re not psychic, so we can’t predict the deals yet. However, these were the best sellers from around the globe last Amazon Prime Day (excluding Amazon products), so we’d expect good deals again this year. Interesting…
